As you may have heard, Surrey County Council have approved the retrospective planning application to continue the waste recycling operations at the Chalk Pit despite the well documented adverse impact on you, the residents.
We share your shock and disappointment at this outcome, and we vow to continue the fight against this awful decision.
The decision though does have to be validated by the Planning Inspectorate and recommended to the Government for approval. Normally this is a formality in a local decision like this, but we hope that this case may be different.
Our next step, in cooperation with Chris Grayling, MP, is to write to the Government asking them to ‘call in’ this decision and overturn it on the grounds that the Council have clearly acted unreasonably and without full knowledge of the facts.
We have set out example letter and we ask each of you to use this to write your own letter in an email to:
Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government at email@example.com.
Hopefully, if we bring enough pressure to bear on the Minister, we can overturn this injustice for the benefit of all the College area residents.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
