Epsom & Ewell Conservatives hosted our second Local Health Meeting on 27th January at Epsom Hospital. As with the meeting in Stoneleigh last year it was well attended and proved even more interesting.

Oyster Cards come to Epsom!

Southern, who run Epsom Station, that they have agreed with the Department for Transport as part of their new franchise agreement, that Oyster Cards will become available for use in Epsom. The target date for this to happen is September of next year.

Epsom Hospital Saved from BSBV

Epsom Hospital has been saved from the outrageous BSBV proposals thanks to our local GPs voting to oppose the plans, and hence Surrey Downs CCG has left the SW London BSBV grouping. Now we need to ensure we establish a long term future for our hospital.

Epsom Hospital Update- Contact your GP!

Please find below an important update sent today by our MP, Chris Grayling. As you can read, there will shortly be a vote by local GPs on the future of Epsom Hospital. The key action point is in the penultimate paragraph- "...can I urge you that if you have the chance, you ask your local GP to vote against the plan to downgrade Epsom."  Along with this, the financial position at Epsom Hospital has improved significantly, and there is chance now that the Epsom and St Helier Trust might be able to get what is called foundation status, which would mean that it would be in a much stronger position to resist proposals to downgrade the services it provides in future.
