Cllr Alexander Clarke

Alexander is a Borough Councillor for College Ward, Epsom

Alexander has lived in Epsom and Ewell all his life, went to school locally before going on to do a BA in History, a MSc in International Conflict and a PhD in War Studies; in his spare time when not teaching or writing history books/papers he likes to blog or walk his dog.

He has been active in the local politics of Epsom & Ewell since he was 18 when he decided that complaining from the side-lines wouldn't get anything done: so it was that the he started helping out in local campaigns, eventually running some campaigns for the Epsom and Ewell Conservative Association and being put in charge of the Surrey Conservative Future Campaign during the Police & Crime Commissioner elections.

As well as this Alex also ran the Support the Local Regiment campaign in Epsom, which successfully reclaimed the Freedom of the Borough for the Local Regiment - the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment; and took part in the campaign to save Epsom Hospital from the BSBV proposals.
