Downs Farm Petition

“Epsom and Ewell’s Local Plan process. It is absolutely vital that we stop this from happening. As part of the regular local plan process that every council has to go through, Epsom and Ewell Borough Council has to give landowners the opportunity to ask for the land they own to be considered for possible development to meet local housing needs. But those proposals do not have to be accepted, and so if the Council does the right thing this proposal does not need to go any further."

"The Council does not need to allow the development of Downs Farm."

"Our MP Chris Grayling has already worked with architects on an alternative plan for our area to redevelop the Kiln Lane and Longmead areas of Epsom into a mixed commercial and residential area. Details are on Chris’s website, www.chrisgrayling.net."

"National planning policy also says that Councils should not develop green belt sites unless there are exceptional circumstances."

“The Liberal Democrat Council in Mole Valley deregistered a green belt site in Ashtead making it available for housing. We cannot allow the Residents Association led Council in Epsom to do the same thing with Downs Farm.”
